A 12-year-old boy in the US has been shot after throwing a snowball at a car.
According to foreign media, it is reported that the child and an 11-year-old were throwing snowballs in the city of Hartford, Connecticut on Wednesday night, when one of them hit a car.
The vehicle began to chase them and its driver "fired a gun at the children," hitting one of them, Hartford Police Lieutenant Aaron Boisvert told reporters Thursday, writes A2 CNN.
He did not say what the child's medical condition was, but revealed that his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
It is reported that the 11-year-old who was with the minor who was hit by the bullets was not hit, writes A2 CNN.
"It could have been a lot worse," said Lieutenant Boisvert.
Police are searching for the perpetrator and are investigating the incident to fully uncover the truth. They do not know how many people were in the car.
Lt. Boisvert said police are also reviewing surveillance camera footage from the area. The child was taken to Connecticut Children's Medical Center, NBC Connecticut reported. (A2 Televizion)
