The South Korean government has temporarily suspended local service of Chinese artificial intelligence app DeepSeek, due to concerns about its data collection practices.
Officials said the service was blocked on Saturday and will only be reactivated after necessary improvements have been made to protect privacy, in accordance with South Korean law.
The ban came after several government departments and agencies blocked access to DeepSeek over privacy concerns.
Deepseek has previously been banned from use in the Netherlands, Texas, Italy, Australia, and Taiwan. (A2 Televizion)
