The new year in the north of Kosovo started just as the old one ended, with operations to remove Serbian parallel structures.
On Wednesday, the police closed the Serbian Tax Administration in North Mitrovica as well as the Serbian insurance company "Dunav". Both of these are due to "illegal activities", writes A2.
In the assessment of security experts, operations to close parallel structures are legal. The very existence of these institutions is seen as an attempt to challenge the constitutional order of Kosovo.
Arben Dashevci, security expert, says: "Everything that is illegal and parallel is against the Constitution and the laws of Kosovo, therefore the Republic of Kosovo is based on the law and acts according to the law, and I see these as many rights and those fragments that what were once left of the parallel institutions are being closed, just as they are closed in every independent and sovereign country".
Lista Serbe reacted through a communiqué for the media, saying that this "is the continuation of the terror of Albin Kurti" who is seeking to increase votes during elections, reports A2.
The representatives of this political party met some of the workers, assuring them that they will continue to be paid: "We have guarantees from the authorities of the Republic of Serbia that all employees will continue to receive their salaries normally from the budget of Serbia. "Kurti has closed the premises today, but not the Tax Service of the Republic of Serbia that operates in Kosovo".
According to the Serbian List, there are about 80 employees in the parallel tax institution in the north. (A2 Televizion)
