Two Turkish citizens have been arrested by the police in Rinas for the purpose of extradition, as they were convicted in Turkey for violent sexual relations and production/sale of narcotics.
"As a result of the verifications and interviews at the entrance/exit, carried out by the specialists of the Border Police of Rinas, as well as as a result of the coordination of the work between the specialists of Interpol Tirana and the homologous structures in Turkey and in Germany, the declared citizens were provisionally arrested in international search:
- Burak Kara, 38 years old, was stopped at the entrance to Albania, after he was sentenced in 2022, by the Court of Mesin, Turkey, to 8 years and 4 months of imprisonment, for sexual intercourse with violence. From the sentence, the 38-year-old has 4 years, 6 months and 21 days of imprisonment left to serve;
- Metehan Tutungu, 25 years old, was detained at the exit of Albania, after being sentenced in 2023, by the Court of Aschaffenburg, Germany, to 6 years and 6 months of imprisonment, for the production and sale of narcotics.
The cooperation with the counterparts continues, for the finalization of the procedures for the extradition of the 2 citizens, to the countries where they were convicted.
Orgen (Mariglen) Bushpreni, 40 years old, resident of Laç, was also caught and handcuffed by the Rinas Border Police. This citizen was declared wanted after the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana sentenced him to 5 years of imprisonment for the criminal offense "Production and sale of narcotics", the police informs.
