Prime Minister Albin Kurti has for the first time commented on the statements of the former American envoy for the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, Richard Grenell.
He insisted that cooperation is excellent with the United States, mentioning here the work to strengthen the KSF through the purchase of American weapons.
"We have never had better things, we are also buying 'Black Hawk' helicopters, after the Javelin anti-tank system. The largest grant Kosovo has ever received from America during our mandate was from the Millennium Challenge Corporation for batteries. We have cooperation not only politically, but also in defense and development. There are sometimes criticisms and remarks, but we must move forward," the prime minister declared to a local television station in Istog, "Istogu Channel".
Just 5 days before the elections in Kosovo, Richard Grenell dealt a strong blow to Albin Kurti through a post on the 'X' platform, refuting the prime minister's claims that his government's relations with the new administration in Washington are very good.
Among other things, he described Kurti as an unreliable partner, who has taken unilateral actions and claims that the international community is united against the head of government in Pristina.
"I have many friends in Kosovo and Albania and many friends in Serbia and around the region. The Trump administration has worked and will continue to work for peace in the Balkans. But we need reliable partners. The Kurti government was not reliable during Trump's first term nor during the Biden administration. Both Republicans and Democrats have criticized Kurti repeatedly for taking unilateral steps that are destabilizing the region. So have the EU and NATO.
